Tales from Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb
Tales from Shakespeare is a prose retelling of 20 Shakespearean plays for children and has been an ideal introduction to his works since its first publication in 1807. It includes both his comedies and tragedies. Mary Lamb wrote the comedies while Charles Lamb penned down the tragedies. They took care to tell all stories in Shakespeare s words and retained the essence of his beautiful language in such a way that Tales from Shakespeare has itself become a classic.
